Ben Bishop is an information technology educator and researcher.
Benjamin Bishop was born and raised in Pennsylvania. He completed his B.S. (1996) and Ph.D. (2000) degrees at Penn State University in Computer Science and Engineering. After two years at the University of Georgia, he joined the faculty at the University of Scranton in 2003. He was a full professor and director of the Information Technology program at Scranton.
Dr. Bishop has been active within the professional and university communities. He has served as a program evaluator and commissioner of ABET, a faculty senate officer, and co-founder of Scranton Girls Who Code. He is a senior member of ACM. His research interests involve specialized systems for spatial processing which include interactive and robotic applications.
